Funky Fall Hi

This is my entry for Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration challenge #23. These are the colors we were assigned to work with: Bravo Burgundy, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, and Old Olive.

A challenge this was! I love these colors together, but to put a card together using all five was a bit more difficult than I thought! I knew I wanted to use the new set Say it With Scallops, with the new square scallop punch. First, I stamped the image I chose (I affectionately refer to it as the Lollipop Hi stamp) in Old Olive and punched it out with the coordinating square scallop punch. I sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink. Next, I layered the punched image on to a So Saffron square and then a Pumpkin Pie square.



Now, how to add the Bravo Burgundy? I decided on a rectangular piece with a scallop edge on the bottom would do. I also stamped the Bravo Burgundy panel with the Canvas background stamp. Next, I added a piece of Old Olive poly-twill ribbon from last spring's mini catalog. I decided the piece needed a little more Bravo Burgundy to round things out, so I stamped the Lollipop Hi in Bravo Burgundy and used my 1/2" circle punch to punch out the "hi." I popped this up on the Old Olive image, using dimensionals.

I put the whole thing together on a 3"x6" Pumpkin Pie card, stamped with the Polka Dots background stamp.

I'm not sure this is one of my all-time faves, but I'm glad that I at least attempted the color challenge. I've had to sit the last couple out because of my surgery. Now I'm back in the game! :)
