Sticky Note Holder with Mini Pencil Tutorial

Finally getting around to posting this tutorial - sorry about the long wait! Hope you enjoy making these - they make fun, realtively quick little gifts.

Supplies:
Cardstock - 3 1/2 x 7 3/4 inches for holder, other pieces to decorate cover
Ink, stamps, ribbon and other embellishments
Paper cutter with cutting and scoring blade (or bone folder and Exacto knife)
Sticky Strip
Mini pen or pencil
Sticky notes (like Post-It)

Score 3 1/2 x 7 3/4 inches piece of cardstock at 3 1/4, 3 1/2 and 4 inches.

Rotate the cardstock 90 degrees. Using the cutting blade on the paper cutter or Exacto knife and ruler, cut a slit 1 1/4 inches from one side. The slit should go from the top score line to the bottom (or third) score line. Repeat from the other side, so that there are two slits. This will form the holder for the pencil.

This is a close-up picture of what the slits in the paper will look like.

Fold at score lines, with a valley fold, mountain fold and valley fold. The wider scored section will eventually lie flat on the base and the narrow section will be the spine of the holder, butting up to the sticky notes. Pop out the section in the middle where the cuts were made.

Flip the holder over and place Sticky Strip on the wide scored sections, just at the top and bottom, but NOT on the middle. Remove backing on the Sticky Strip and secure to the back of the holder.

Apply Sticky Strip to the back of the sticky notes and secure to the base of the holder.

Decorate the cover as desired and insert mini pen or pencil.
