Mojo Monday #75

I actually had some time to do stamp last night! Yippee! I have been so busy trying to get my tax info prepped this week, that I haven't had time to do a lot of creating, and my fingers were itching to ink up this new set, A Kind Word. I think this set is absolutely adorable!

I also wanted to play along with the Mojo Monday sketch for the week. I'm afraid that I didn't stay very true to the sketch and there's a good reason for there that. I plum ran out of room! I do like the finished product, though! I think my favorite part is the paper-pieced dress. Isn't that fun?

Lots of stamping this weekend - another yippee! This afternoon, we will be holding our first Big Shot club meeting and I will be demonstrating the butterfly card I posted earlier this week. Tomorrow afternoon, I get to meet with the Creative Consortium, my group of friends who I've been stamping with once a month for years. I SO look forward to catching up and stamping the afternoon away. Have a great weekend!

Big Shot WOW! Card

This is my project for our Big Shot class on Saturday (rescheduled from last Saturday due to LOTS of snow!). Each of the three projects use materials that are unique and different, and can be made using the Bigz dies. I used the new Sticky Pages and Fine Cosmo glitter to create my sparkly butterfly.

I love the new Beautiful Butterflies die and I'm looking forward to playing with it some more, as well as using different materials with it.

I wanted you to see how glitzy this butterfly is!

A Little Bit of Spring

Here is the card that I demonstrated at our downline meeting last night. I used the SAB paper bundle and the SAB Polka Dot Punches stamp set. It looks so fresh and springy!

Our meeting was fabulous, as always, but several people couldn't make it because they were sick. I received some fun trades and got some great ideas for upcoming events. Thanks Karla and Rachel! :)

Trade for Downline Meeting

Tonight is our monthly downline meeting. I look forward to this meeting and really enjoy chatting with all of the demonstrators in the HeArtisans group. They truly are an extraordinary group of ladies and stampers. The theme for our trades is to pick a card out of the catalog and change it in some way (colors, stamp set, etc.). I decided to use a card that is in the March issue of Stampin' Success (the magazine that Stampin' Up! sends out to their demonstrators each month). If you are a demonstrator, check out the card on the back cover. I thought the layout was simple and fun, and easy to alter. Since my kids have been sick and I was out of town for part of the weekend, I needed something quick and easy. Often, I agonize over my trades, wanting them to be "just right." This one came together very quickly, which was a nice change of pace!

I used the Flight of the Butterfly set and the "let's celebrate" from On Your Birthday. I LOVE the springy, happy look to this card!

I'm also demo'ing a card tonight, using some SAB goodies. I'll share it with you tomorrow! Happy Tuesday!

Colorful Blooms

I created this card for last week's color challenge on Splitcoast (CC206), which was to use More Mustard, Kiwi Kiss and Rose Red. I've also been playing around with the Rolling Marbles technique, which I used on the white panel with the leaves stamped on it. It gives the paper a nice texture and it's a lot of fun. My kids really enjoyed helping me with this technique. :)

Speaking of kids, they are the reason why things have been so quiet here for the last week. Enavi was sick with the flu for most of last week. She finally made it out of her jammies on Thursday, but is still having some random stomach trouble. Needless to say, it was a long week, and I was trying to prep for 3 events as well. Saturday brought several inches of snow, and 2 of my events ended up rescheduling. I have to say that I enjoyed being at home with my family. Hopefully things are back to relative normal this week!

Stamps: Botanical Blooms, Thank You Kindly
Paper: Kraft, More Mustard, Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss
Ink: More Mustard, Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Mat Pack, piercing tool, Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon, Vintage Brads

Tickled Pink

I demo'd this card at a workshop last week. The theme was pink, so each of the projects had some kind of pink in them. I thought this card was a fun way to use the new SU! embosslits. I like the clean look of the black and white, with just a touch of pink. I thought this could make a fun birthday, bridal shower or wedding card. That's one of the nice things about the Congrats set - you can use it for so many different occasions.

Stamps: Congrats, Priceless
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, Pink Passion
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Mat pack, paper piercer, Big Shot, Cherry Blossom embosslit, 1/4" circle punch, rhinestone brads, black grosgrain ribbon, white taffeta ribbon

Valentine's Brag Books

I found these brag books at Michael's for $0.30 each! They were decorated with Hannah Montana and High School Musical covers, which I simply slid out and inserted my decorated panel. I'm planning to give these to Jevin's preschool teachers. They were supposed to be for Valentine's Day, but he was sick last Thursday and missed his party, so they'll receive them tomorrow instead.

I was playing around with my Texturz Plates for the Big Shot and decided to spruce up my die cut hearts with a little texture.

Paper: Raspberry Tart dsp, Rose Red, Regal Rose
Ink: None
Accessories: Pretties Kit, Big Shot, Stampin' Up! Backgrounds I texturz plates, Hearts Set die, Regal Rose wide grosgrain ribbon, Rose Red double-stitched grosgrain ribbon

Cherish

I am in love with this card made by alystamps on Splitcoast. I used the same layout to make this card, which I demo'd at a workshop on Wednesday night. I enjoyed pulling out my Pretties Kit to make the decorative pin.

I stamped the Boho Blooms background stamp on the Regal Rose card using VersaMark ink. Next, I stamped the sentiment (from Baroque Motifs) with Rose Red ink in the lower left corner. I used my Eyelet Border punch on a strip of Whisper White cs and layered this onto the card, along with a strip of Raspberry Tart designer paper and a narrow strip of Rose Red cs.

I stamped the heart from Polka Dot Punches in VersaMark ink on some Regal Rose scrap cs and embossed it with white embossing powder. I punched it out with the Full Heart punch and inserted a pin from the Pretties Kit, which I dolled up with some of the clear beads and faux pearls. I also added a piece of the new Whisper White organza ribbon (so pretty!). I like that you could use this card as a Valentine, but it would also make a lovely anniversary or wedding card.

Speaking of Valentine's Day, I hope yours is filled with happiness and time with your special ones. I don't have any events scheduled this weekend, so I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with my family. Have a great weekend!

Heart to Heart

A quick Valentine's Day card using the Sale-A-Bration set Polka Dot Punches. We made this card at last Saturday's 10 Cards for $10 class. I case'd this card from Jenn D., who has a fabulous blog called Stamp Your Heart Out. I love the crispness of these colors - the black really makes it pop!

Stamps: Polka Dot Punches, Sweet Little Sentiments, Polka Dot background stamp
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Basic Black
Accessories: Full Heart punch, Riding Hood Red striped grosgrain ribbon

Simple Sympathy Card

This is one of the cards we made at last Saturday's 10 Cards for $10. I case'd it from ChristineCreations, whose card I saw on Splitcoast. I knew it would be perfect for the class!

I embossed the tree image (from Thoughts and Prayers) with white embossing powder and sponged Pacific Point ink over the embossed image. Next, I took a paper towel and "buffed" the embossed image to get rid of any excess ink. I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point ink on Whisper White scrap and punched it out with the Large Oval punch and layered it onto a piece of Pacific Point cs, punched with the Curly Label punch. I also added some Pacific Point striped grosgrain ribbon. It's always nice to have cards like this on hand, and these are a snap to put together.

Stamps: Thoughts and Prayers
Paper: Whisper White, Pacific Point
Ink: VersaMark, Pacific Point
Accessories: white ep, heat gun, sponge, Large Oval punch, Curly Label punch, Pacific Point striped grosgrain

Kids' Valentine's Day Class

These are the projects we made Saturday at my Valentine's Day workshop at Rhapsody Art Gallery. Most of the projects are simplified versions of other Valentines I've posted here.

All of the kids liked the projects and enjoyed making each card their own by changing the design in some way. I told them the card was just a place to start and they could embellish as they desired. There was a lot glitter flying in the air, I can tell you that! :)

Several of the kids said that their favorite project was the owl card - they all thought the "whoo-la-la" was funny. And they all liked the box we decorated - we filled them with Valentine's jelly beans - yum!

Mojo Monday #72

This is my submission for this week's Mojo Monday challenge. I really like this sketch and I am so happy with how this card turned out. It is a lot more detailed than the cards I normally do, but I had a lot of fun with it.

I just got this set (A Good Egg) about a week ago. That little chick just kills me! It is so darn cute. I used the Rainbow Sherbet dsp - again - because I wanted something springy and fun. To stamp the sentiment, I inked half of the phrase with my Green Galore marker and stamped it, then used my jig to stamp the other half of the sentiment beneath it, so that it would fit in a circle punch.

Love to hear what you think!

Stamps: A Good Egg
Paper: Gable Green, Green Galore, Apricot Appeal, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Rainbow Sherbet dsp
Ink: Black Staz-On, Gable Green, Apricot Appeal, VersaMark, Green Galore marker, Pumpkin Pie marker
Accessories: Aqua Painter, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, Scallop punch, Scallop edge punch, mat pack, paper piercer, white ep, heat gun, flower ribbon slide, Apricot Appeal grosgrain ribbon

Triple the Love

This super simple Valentine is for a class that I will be teaching at Rhapsody Art Gallery this Saturday. I have several kids signed up, so I've been trying to come up with a simple design. I think this card fits the bill. It also fits the challenge over at Our Creative Corner, which is to create a card using two hearts or more.

I started with a 6"x6" piece of Whisper White cardstock, which I folded in half to make a 3"x6" card. I stamped the heart image from the SAB set Polka Dot Punches with VersaMark ink on Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose and Rose Red cardstock. I added some white embossing powder and used my heat gun to set the powder. I punched out each heart with my Full Heart punch and attached them to the card with Dimensionals. I also added a little sparkle to each heart with a small pink jewel (non-SU!).

To finish the card off, I stamped the sentiment (from Short and Sweet) in the lower right corner and added a little paper piercing. I really like the finished product - simple and elegant, not to mention quick and easy! :)

Stamps: Polka Dot Punches, Short and Sweet
Paper: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Rose Red
Ink: Rose Red, VersaMark
Accessories: white ep, heat gun, Full Heart punch, mat pack, paper piercer, half jewel

Valentine's Day Heart Pouch

Today's post is my project for the Valentine's Day stamp camp I'm participating in this evening. I saw this project on Splitcoast, and you can find a tutorial from Barb Mullikin here.

I used my Big Shot and the Petal Card die to create this pouch. Basically, you cut two petal cards and use a 2"x6" piece of cardstock to secure the flaps and make the pouch. I also used my new Eyelet Border punch on the sides for a little extra flair.

I also used the Petal Card die to cut the Raspberry Tart designer paper for the front of the pouch. I cut a 4"x5" piece of dsp and placed it on the die so that it only covered the part of the card that would make the front of the pouch. I trimmed off the extra dsp on the score lines and glued it down - so easy! I was so glad not to have to trace anything!

The side view:

Here is the pouch actually hanging! I hope everyone at the stamp camp enjoys this project. I can't wait to see what the other demonstrators have come up with!
