Earth Elements Medallion

I'm so excited about Stampin' Up!'s Color Renovation... but I do want to make use of some of the retiring colors before they fade into oblivion. I demo'd this card (which features Ruby Red, Cameo Coral and Creamy Caramel) at a workshop this week, using the Poppin' Pastels technique to color the Medallion stamp.

This technique never fails to impress. What could be easier and pack such a wow? Just in case you've never tried the Poppin' Pastels technique, here's a quick run down: stamp your image in VersaMark ink, use a sponge dauber to add pastel (chalk) color of your choice, moving dauber in a circular motion until the desired color depth is achieved. If you haven't already, you gotta give it a try! I showed it to my kids and they just stood there with their mouths open. Jevin said, "Wow! It's like magic!" I said, "That's right - Mommy's magic. Don't forget it!" LOL!

Well, I'm wrapping up this week and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend. 'Bye for now!

Stamps: Medallion, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Ruby Red, Very Vanilla
Ink: VersaMark, Ruby Red, Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Stampin' Pastels, sponge daubers, Modern Label punch, Vintage Brads, Very Vanilla satin ribbon

Gorgeous Jen!! I want to try that technique. I think that was the one you used in the Vintage Vogue class that I didn't make it to. I love that card you did and the colors you chose for it.
