Watercolor Trio Mini Notes

Well, hi there! I know that it has been FOREVER since I last posted - so sorry! I'm not quite sure I can offer an explanation, other than sometimes life takes over and you just go along for the ride. We've been busy with end-of-school year craziness, as well as some traveling, but I'm hoping things will settle down for a bit so I can get some stamping done. Today's project is one that I demonstrated at a recent workshop. It is pretty quick and easy, doesn't require a ton of materials, and packs a "WOW!" factor.

We made this adorable little box (couldn't be easier - just used the SU! Bitty Box & Envelope die with my Big Shot) and 4 coordinating mini note cards with the Watercolor Trio set. The note cards measure 2 1/4" x 2 1/4". Here's a closer look at the box...

...and here's a shot of the cards. We made two of each design, for a total of 4 note cards. Everyone LOVED it! :)

It's been hot, hot, HOT here and we have yet to turn on the AC. Whew! I'm hoping my hubby can get it done tonight, or I'm afraid I *may* melt. Hang in there with me - I'm hoping to have something new for you later this week. Thanks for stopping by!

Elegant Elements of Style

Here's an elegant and simple card I made with the Elements of Style set from the Summer Mini. I was inspired by a trade I received from my upline, Karla Anders.

I'm trying to use lots of my retiring colors - I used Pale Plum on this card. Doesn't it look fantastic with the Basic Black and Very Vanilla? I also love the Basic Black satin ribbon - had to add a ruffle!

Motorcyle Madness

I had my dad in mind when I made this card. He retired from Harley Davidson a couple of years ago and I couldn't pass up this fantastic single stamp on the last page of the Summer Mini. The name, you may ask? Why it's called Motorcycle, of course! I'm looking forward to making more cards with this bad boy!

This card is another trade I made for a recent swap, and I used the cracked glass technique on the motorcycle panel. Basically, I embossed the motorcycle panel three times with Glassy Glaze Enamel embossing powder before bending the panel to make the embossing crack in several places. I had tried this technique before, without much success, but I read somewhere to place the embossed panel in the freezer for 5 to 10 minutes before trying to crack the enamel. Worked like a charm! In order to accentuate the cracks in the surface, I rubbed some Soft Suede ink into the surface of the enamel and rubbed off any excess ink with a paper towel.

I really like the vintage feel of this masculine card. And don't you love that teeny, tiny bit of piercing? I couln't resist. ;)

Well, that's all for today - stop back soon. 'Bye for now!

Watercolor Trio

Hi there and happy Tuesday! The Summer Mini catalog is officially here - wahoo! One of my absolute FAVORITE sets from the Summer Mini is Watercolor Trio. It is so versatile and elegant. I made this card for a recent swap I participated in.

See all those little sparkly flecks on the card? No, that is not your computer screen acting up. :) I sprayed the finished card with Vanilla Smooch Spritz. Here's a closer peek:

The layout for this card comes from a previous Mojo Monday sketch. I actually made a card using this sketch when it was first posted. You can view my original card here.

I hope your week is off to a super start. Stop by tomorrow for another card featuring products from the Summer Mini. 'Bye for now!
