Heidi Fest Fun

I wanted to share some of the pictures I took at the Heidi Festival this past weekend. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our little booth to say hello. I am so thankful it didn't rain, but it was VERY hot on Saturday. I thought we were going to melt! Here is a picture of our table:

This is me with my downline, Stacey Campbell. She is such a sweetie - I am so thankful she was there with me all weekend!

I made up this little "Book to Look" basket to display on our table. Our display items drew lots of curious shoppers.

This is Michelle Veeneman and her daughter, Emma. Michelle makes incredible baskets, bags, clutches and other accessories out of recycled plastic bags. She fuses several layers together, cuts them out into assorted patterns and makes her creations.

This is an example of one of Michelle's bags. They are so colorful and fun!

This is a clutch made by Michelle. I actually bought the matching clutch - I loved the colors on these. Michelle used the Big Shot to make the decorative flower on the flap.

One more example of Michelle's work - aren't these fantastic? If you want to know more about Michelle and her creations, you can visit her web site, The Sewn Circle. You can purchase her creations locally at The Purple Goose in Verona.

Well, that's all for today. I'll be back soon with some more projects to share. 'Bye for now!

FTL 95 + Sneak Peeks

Hi all! How's your summer going? Mine has been BUSY with a capital "B"! Swimming lessons, playing at the pool, ballet classes, play dates with friends, birthday parties to go to, birthday parties to plan... I have been so busy with my kiddos, I've hardly had time to sit still for 5 minutes, let alone stamp up some goodies to share. I did manage to put this card together for a recent shoebox swap using stamp sets from the new catalog. This adorable set is called Apple Blossoms and it is a Level 2 hostess set. I used Fall to Layout #95 from the Clean & Simple blog.

I added a little extra dimension to my flower by rolling the petals around my finger - it really pops off the card. And don't you love that little touch of Riding Hood Red? So bright and cheery! Lots of sneak peeks on this baby - I used Early Espresso cardstock and ink, Daffodil Delight cardstock, the Apple Blossoms stamp set and some of the new narrow taffeta ribbon in Early Espresso. I can't wait for the July 1st when I can begin ordering some of the new goodies in the catalog - wahoo! Hope you've enjoyed today's card - I'll be back soon to share some pictures from Heidi Fest. 'Bye for now!

Stamps: Apple Blossoms
Paper: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White
Ink: Early Espresso

A few retiring stamp sets...

Happy Monday! As you know, we are soon saying goodbye to some of our Stampin' Up! sets, and I used several of these retiring images, along with papers and cardstock, as part of my last stamp-a-stack. Today I'm sharing a few of the cards we made.

This first card was inspired by a layout from Splitcoast by Christine Miller. You can view her original card here. I made mine into a masculine version of this card, using the Four Square stamp set and To The Nines specialty dsp (both retiring) and a Star designer brad as an embellishment (also retiring).
Stamps: Four Square
Paper: Sahara Sand, Whisper White, To the Nines specialty dsp
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: 1 1/4" square punch, Scallop Square punch, Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Star designer brad

This second card uses the Close As a Memory stamp set, which is a wonderful sympathy set. I paired the image with Sage Shadow cardstock and Bride Specialty paper (also retiring).

Stamps: Close as a Memory
Paper: Sade Shadow, Whisper White, Bride Specialty dsp
Ink: Bashful Blue and Sage Shadow markers, Basic Black
Accessories: Sage Shadow grosgrain ribbon

I like keeping my stamp-a-stack cards fairly simple (or at least I try to!) and these fit the bill. See you back here soon - 'bye for now! :)

Simply Thanks Note Cards

I enjoyed making my Girlfriend Gift Set so much that I decided to make a set of thank you notes in the same style, using my Watercolor Trio and Simply Thanks stamps. I focused my colors in the Earth Elements color family, using all retiring colors: Cameo Coral, More Mustard, Dusty Durango, Summer Sun. OK - Dusty Durango is technically an In Color, but it fits in so well with these other colors! :)

So simple and easy - gotta love it! Have a GREAT weekend - I'll be perusing my *NEW* catalog and memorizing all of the new stampin' goodies on my wish list. :) 'Bye for now!

Stamps: Watercolor Trio, Simply Thanks
Paper: Cameo Coral, More Mustard, Dusty Durango, Summer Sun, Naturals Ivory
Ink: Cameo Coral, More Mustard, Dusty Durango, Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: small fine-mist spray bottle, Mat Pack, Paper-Piercing Tool

Girlfriend Gift Set

I wanted to put together a super quick and easy lil' gift card set and I decided to pull out my Watercolor Trio set once again. For this fun set of note cards, I paired it with the Favorite Thoughts stamp set from the Summer Mini. I think this would be a great little gift for that treasured girlfriend - you know who I'm talking 'bout, right? The one you can count on to always be there for you? Yeah, she's the one! Anyway, these are all basically the same design and layout, I just switched up the colors and sentiments. I pulled out several of the returning In Colors - Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point and Baja Breeze. Love those colors - I am so happy to be able to use them again. :)

To make the cards, I sprayed the Confetti White cardstock with water and stamped the image several times without reinking it. After letting the cardstock dry completely it was slightly warped, so I placed it under a towel and ran an iron over it to help it lay flat. Next I stamped the sentiment, added the piercing, flower and silver brad and attached the panel to my card base using Dimensionals. I can't wait to send these fun cards to some of my fantastic friends. I think my favorite quote is the one about "Well behaved women..." I have that quote on a t-shirt and a coffee mug, so you know I had to have it in stamp form, too. LOL!

Stamps: Watercolor Trio, Favorite Thoughts
Paper: Confetti White, Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point, Old Olive, Baja Breeze
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point, Old Olive, Baja Breeze, Basic Black
Accessories: small fine-mist spray bottle, Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, silver brads, Mat Pack, Paper-Piercing Tool

In other news, my kiddos have been sick, so there hasn't been much time for stamping around here, and now I seem to be coming down with some sort of yucky bug (headache, sore throat, aches - ugh!). I'm hoping I'll be on the mend by tomorrow and I can get back into some stamping. I'm off to take a look at the SU! sneak peek for the new catalog - one of the FABULOUS bennies of being a demo! :) Have a great day!
