Engraved Greetings Birthday

Happy Friday! Today's card uses one of new favorite sets, Engraved Greetings (p. 182, IBC). You might have missed it, since it's actually back in the accessories section. When I saw this set, I knew it was one that I would have to add to my first order from the new catalog. I love the letter press quality of the font, and it looks great on masculine cards. This is the card I provided as a make-n-take at our mini-convention earlier this week. The layout for this card was inspired by a project I saw on Dawn Olchefske's blog.

Did you see that little bit o' sparkle? I added a couple of Basic Rhinestones to the main image, just to dress is all up a teensy bit.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great weekend!

Stamps: Engraved Greetings
Paper: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Elegant Soiree dsp
Ink: Soft Suede
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Very Vanilla satin ribbon, Basic Rhinestones

Orante Blossom Resist

I am so happy with how this card turned out! I tried the Reverse Joseph's Coat technique to create the main panel, using the En Francais and Ornate Blossom stamps. This is such a COOL looking technique, and the card is even more gorgeous in person, if I do say so myself.

I made the main panel by first stamping the En Fracais background stamp in Pacific Point ink on Shimmery White cardstock. Next, I stamped the Ornate Blossom stamp over the background image with VersaMark ink. I embossed the Ornate Blossom with clear embossing powder and sponged ink over the embossed image, first with Bashful Blue, then Marina Mist and Pacific Point on the far edges. I absolutely love the result! It's hard to see the shimmer in the photo - it shows up much better in real life. Have a great day!

Stamps: En Francais, Ornate Blossom
Paper: Pacific Point, Shimmery White
Ink: Pacific Point, Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, VersaMark
Accessories: clear ep, heat tool, sponge daubers, Pewter jumbo eyelet, Crop-a-Dile, Bashful Blue satin ribbon, Basic Pearls

Gotta Have Daffodil Delight!

Hey there! Today's card uses the gorgeous new color Daffodil Delight. It is such a nice, true yellow, and it looks fantastic paired with Pumpkin Pie and Pear Pizzazz.

I cased this card from Dawn Olchefske for a trade for last night's mini convention here in Madison. Most of us were unable to attend the SU! Convention in Salt Lake City this year, so we decided to have our own! I made my little flower accent using the Boho Blossoms punch and the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack. I added Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds to the center of the flower for that beautiful sparkle.

Today we start vacation bible school - wish me luck! The next few days will be very busy around here, but lots of fun, too. I'll see you back here soon. 'Bye for now!

Stamps: Perfect Punches
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Greenhouse Gala dsp
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: 1 1/4" square punch, Boho Blossoms punch, Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds, Pear Pizzazz stitched-poly ribbon

Ornate Blossom

Today's card is my take on Fall-to-Layout #100. This is truly a clean and simple sketch, and there's a lot you can do with it. I pulled out my new Ornate Blossom stamp, which I've been itching to use, along with some more Greenhouse Gala designer paper.
I adore Marina Mist - it such a soothing blue, and goes so well with Pear Pizzazz. To Make the card, I trimmed one end off of my card front and added the scallop edge. Next I adhered the designer paper to the inside of the card and added a strip of Pear Pizzazz cardstock beneath the scallops. I stamped the Ornate Blossom in VersaMark and added the sentiment (from Occasional Quotes) with Early Espresso ink. I finished the card off with the Pear Pizzazz ribbon. Hope you enjoyed today's creation - have a great Monday!

Stamps: Ornate Blossom, Occasional Quotes
Paper: Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, Greenhouse Gala dsp
Ink: VersaMark, Early Espresso
Accessories: Scallop Border punch, Mat Pack, Paper-Piercing Tool, Pear Pizzazz stitched-poly ribbon

Gorgeous Greenhouse Gala

Today's card is based on Fall-to-Layout #99 from the Clean & Simple Stamping blog. I decided to finally break open my Greenhouse Gala designer paper, and since I used it for the main panel on this card, the whole project came together very quickly.

That Real Red designer button just pops, doesn't it? The colors in this designer paper are so fresh and fun. I'm looking forward to using it on some future projects.

That's all I have for you today. Tomorrow's Friday - wahoo! I can't wait for the weekend, but I'll sneak in one more project for you, so stop by for a peek. See you then!

Hot Off the Presses!

It has been another busy week in the Sannes household, and I'm not quite sure just how it got to be Wednesday already!?! Yikes! We've been trying to keep up with our garden, which is producing bumper crops of green beans, yellow beans, cucumbers and zucchini. Needless to say, we are all getting our daily fill of veggies! I had a wee bit of time this morning to sit and stamp while the kids were at their art camp. I made this card, which is inspired by this week's CAS challenge on Splitcoast. The sketch challenge is based on card by ravengirl. Here's my take:

I just love playing with my new goodies! I used some of the Newsprint dsp, as well as the new Antique Brads (definitely one of my new favorite accessories). Did you notice the embossing on the star? It's that gorgeous embossing folder, Vintage Wallpaper. Here's a little closer look, just in case you missed it the first time:

Well, that's all for today. Gotta run - I hope to have something new for you tomorrow, so please stop by. 'Bye for now!

Adding a little color to your day!

Here are the last two cards from this month's stamp-a-stack. These cards were designed and demonstrated by my downline, Stacey Campbell. She has such a great eye for fun color combinations and layouts. I'm so glad that she is going to be participating in my classes with me!

This card uses the new Friends Never Fade set. I love this fun, colorful layout - it's amazing what you can do with a couple of ink pads and a corner rounder!

Ink: VersaMark, Whisper White craft, Basic Black

Because I Care CASE

Here's another card from last Saturday's class, using the Level I hostess set Because I Care. This is a complete CASE of a card I received as a swap from our last downline meeting from Suzanne Askey. I loved everything about her card and I knew my customers would love it, too.

This card uses three of the new colors that are now available - Pear Pizazz, Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight. What a great combination! You can also see that new embossing folder, Vintage Wallpaper. It's so fun to have new goodies to play with!

See you back here tomorrow with the last of the stamp-a-stack cards. 'Bye for now!

Elegant Lines Birthday

Hey there - happy Wednesday! I have another card to share from my stamp-a-stack, which also works for this week's Clean and Simple challenge on Splitcoast - dry embossing. This card uses the brand spankin' new Elegant Lines embossing folder and the Perfect Punches stamp set. This card was definitely one of the favorites from Saturday's class. I'm planning on making up a batch of these to send with a friend to Convention for swaps.

Don't you love that little bit o' bling? I'm really digging the new self-adhesive rhinestones and pearls in the catalog.

Here's another great thing about this card - leave off the jewels and you've got a great masculine birthday card - love it! :) Have a great day!

Tiny Tea Cups

I love this new stamp (Tiny Tea Cup, available as a single stamp) - probably one of my faves from the new catalog. It's just so stinkin' CUTE! When I mounted the stamp on the wood block, I cut off the "hello" and mounted it on the side of the block. Now I can stamp tea cups to my heart's delight and not deal with masking the sentiment. Genius? Yes, I know... :)

We made this card at Saturday's stamp-a-stack. It's so clean, simple and cute - sure to brighten someone's day. Did I mention it's cute... OK, just wanted to make sure. Have a great day!

Stamps

Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise
Ink: Real Red, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: 1 1/4" Square punch, Scallop Square punch, Mat Pack, Paper-Piercing Tool, Corner Rounder, Real Red 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon

Small Pleasures

Today's project features the versatility of the My Digital Studio software. You may remember a card that I posted last week, using the Because I Care stamp set (see the original card here). My cousin-in-law, Donna Yliniemi, shared this version of it, which she made using MDS.

Isn't this a beautiful case - I was so impressed that I wanted to show it to you all. Thanks, Donna!

I hope you have a great weekend ahead. I'll be busy with some classes and general catch-up after our trip. Next week the kids start art camp - wahoo! Two hours each morning to myself - I am giddy with excitement! I'll finally be able to get my new stampin' goodies organized and play with some of my new stuff. See you soon - 'bye for now!

Home again, home again...

I'm home from our mini-vacation to the lake. We had a great trip and enjoyed wonderful lake weather - lots of swimming, boating, tubing, and playing with cousins. Now I have about 7 loads of laundry to deal with - I guess I know what I'll be doing today! Before I get lost in socks and underwear, I wanted to share this little gift card holder I demonstrated at our last downline meeting.

I got the idea for this project from Mary Fish - you can view her original tutorial here. I modified her gift card holder just a bit by adding the pocket to hold the gift card in place. As you can see, I have really been enjoying my new Because I Care and Occasional Quotes sets!

Lots to do - laundry, here I come. Have a great day!

Paper: Blushing Bride, Whisper White

Soft and Simple: Because I Care

I love the soft, gentle feel of this card. This was my swap for this month's downline meeting and it features the new hostess sets Because I Care and Occasional Quotes. I was inspired by a layout I found in the new catalog on page 97. I changed the stamp sets and the layout just a bit, but I loved the look of all of those neutrals together.

It has been such a crazy week. Yesterday topped it all off with my son's bowling birthday party - I'll try to share some pictures with you because those kids were too funny. We had a great time, but I am pooped - I passed out on the couch at 8:30 last night! I am really looking forward to a long weekend at the lake, swimming and having fun with my family and in-laws. I hope you have a happy and safe 4th of July weekend - see you back here next week!

Stamps: Because I Care, Occasional Quotes
Paper: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Accessories: Button Latte designer button (retired), hemp twine, 1 3/4" circle punch, Mat Pack, Paper Piercing Tool

It's here...

...and it's gorgeous! The new catalog is officially available and you can start making your wish list! :)

View the catalog by visiting my demo web site. If you are local and are in need of a catalog, please let me know - I'm happy to get one in your hands, once I receive my catalog. There was a slight snafu with my pre-ordered catalogs and, for some reason, they have yet to arrive. Stampin' Up! is sending me replacements and I'm hoping they will arrive sometime next week. Anyway, check out the catalog on-line in the meantime - there are so many fun new stamps, accessories and paper. And don't forget Celebrando Creatividad and Decor Elements (see links to the right) - new stuff there, too. I hope you enjoy checking out all of the new goodies!
